For me, one of the greatest pieces of music of all times, if not the greatest symphony, next to Beethoven's 9th and Brahms's 4th, but even more than these masterpieces this is a work which confronts us with the unfathomable forces at the core of the human soul.
The heart-wrenching Adagio of Symphony No. 10 is here presented in several outstanding recordings, including two accounts of the completed work, in Deryck Cooke's fine later versions.
