Transcriptions and/or (re)arrangements are not regarded with the greatest respect by classical music aficionados You simply cannot play Bach on the piano, etcetera. Okay, most of the time I prefer the original instrumentation too, but listening to transcriptions can shed not only new and often refreshing light on music that you may have heard too much, but they often offer new timbral possibilities and seductiveness that have an appeal of their own, independent of how much you've heard the composition. Keyboard music for example, played by an ensemble intrigues me, because of the instruments' different registers and colours; the musical lines emerge in new and surprising ways. So, this posting is maybe not every ones 'cup of tea'; I like transcriptions for now and then, not for every day of course.
