Three More Planets
Gustav Holst - The Planets and other Orchestral Works
In my earlier MIMIC posts, I have featured the six recordings of The Planets that please me the most and I have also included a number of others which only just failed to make the top six. Here are three more, all budget releases, conducted by Charles Groves, James Loughran and Malcolm Sargent. None of these seem to be currently easy to find in the blogosphere as lossless downloads but meet my basic criteria if only sometimes by the skin of their teeth.. These are all FLAC rips from CD, many thanks to the original uploaders and come with booklet, cover and inlay scans (except there is no booklet with the Sargent).
