Thank you, NZGuy!
Your contributions are varied and interesting as always. Thank you! Now I want to ask you: do you have the Dutton recording of Malcolm Arnold's ballets Homage to the Queen and Sweeney Todd?
@Autumnal Nostalgic: Unfortunately, I do not yet have that Dutton recording. But in any case it is too recent a release to be posted here on MIMIC this year.
Thanks nice mix nzguy. Always enjoy - by change do you have the Sir Arthur Bliss Violin Concerto -The Lady of Shalott, Suite from the ballet on BBC Radio Classics?
@Jim: You are in luck. I do have the BBC recording of Bliss' Violin Concerto and The Lady of Shalott together with the accompanying booklet (sourced from archive.org. I will be posting it on MIMIC fairly soon but here is an advanced copy: https://mega.nz/folder/8k5GRK6D#7nlM4WI3meBUH8Lor3wBQg. Will be active for a week or two.
nzguy - Thank you so much! I've been looking for this for a while. I know Dutton-Epoch just did the Bliss Lady - but it will probably be a while before it circulates. Enjoy and eagerly await your posts, they are so eclectic (meant as a compliment) just my style also. Appreciate your reply and linkage.
Thanks for the Bliss Violin Concerto and The Lady of Shalott from the BBC. Do you have the Dutton recording with Martyn Yates?
@John: Martin Yates' & Lorraine McAslan's recording of the Bliss (and Walton) Violin Concertos is already posted on MIMIC: https://meetinginmusic.blogspot.com/2026/01/a-wee-mixed-bag-twenty-two-bliss.html. I also have Martin Yates' recording of The Lady of Shalott and this will be posted here on MIMIC later this year.
Thank you very much :)
